Kissing over the internet is possible?

This may sound like a joke but the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo has made this possible by using a robotic tongue that lets you kiss people over the Internet.

“If you think the idea of french kissing someone over the internet with a robotic tongue is kind of gross, go outside and enjoy your afternoon. For those of you still sitting here, The University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo has just what you've been looking for. The Kiss Transmission Device is a motion-sensing receptacle that records your tongue's movements and then sends that information to a corresponding machine in your partner's mouth. From the article: "In addition to real-time smooching, the Kiss Transmission Device can be programmed to 'remember' specific rotations. The pre-recorded information can then be accessed by multiple recipients. According to the inventor, this could be a good way for celebrities to get closer to their fans." The University gave no word on the possibility of tentacles in future models.” Read more on Slash.dot..

Here is a video of how it works… well I don’t think I want to try or ever bother buying such device but then it might be a good tool to sell yourself online and let your client experience more.. lol

Then again.. would you actually use this device?

Updates from Herald Sun–Japan 8.8-magnitude earthquake

UPDATE 6.30pm: A MASSIVE 8.8-magnitude earthquake has hit Japan, unleashing a powerful tsunami that sent ships crashing into the shore and carried cars through the streets of coastal towns.

Multiple injuries, but no immediate deaths, were reported from the Pacific coastal area of Miyagi on the main Honshu island, police said according to media. TV footage showed widespread flooding in the area.

Japan's meteorological agency earlier warned that a tsunami as high as six metres could strike the coast near Miyagi prefecture, closest to the epicentre.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre in Hawaii said a tsunami warning was in effect for Japan, Russia, Marcus Island and the Northern Marianas.
A tsunami watch has been issued for Guam, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia and Hawaii.”

Massive 8.9-magnitude quake hits Japan

Got this from CNN:

“Tokyo (CNN) -- An 8.9-magnitude earthquake hit northern Japan on Friday, triggering tsunamis and sending a massive body of water filled with debris that included boats and houses inching toward highways.

The epicenter was 373 kilometers (231 miles) away from the capital, Tokyo, the United States Geological Survey said. But residents there felt the tremors.

The quake rattled buildings and toppled cars off bridges and into waters underneath. Waves of debris flowed like lava across farmland, pushing boats, houses and trailers toward highways.

In Tokyo, crowds gathered in the streets and tried to reach relatives via cell phone.”

You can watch the video of the reporter speaking to each other but no visual of the situation there yet.
